In this rhythm based game, your goal is to avoid touching the colorful squares for as long as you can. You control the white square by using your mouse or touching your phone screen. Your score increases per enemy square that appears on the screen. Touching an enemy square puts your score back to 0 and checks for a high score, displayed below the game.
It's rhythm based because the enemy squares spawn when the beat is high energy. The background lights are just there for visual effect, as another visual representation of the relative energy of the game's music in real time.
This simulation can also be viewed as a musical animation rather than a music game.
