Woah, Bees
A cozy, momentum-based collecting adventure game. Fly a tiny bee, harvest magical plants, complete Honeycomb quests, and spend Pollen on upgrades.
What is this
An endless, procedurally generated field, dotted with collectible plants.
Glowing Honeycombs (hex-cored beacons) offer quests: bring back specific plants in certain amounts. Turn them in to earn Pollen and sometimes extra plant bundles. Progress is saved automatically.
How to Play
- Move: WASD or click to drag on desktop • Tap/drag to set a destination on mobile.
- Collect: Fly into plants to harvest them. Your Magnet upgrade gently pulls nearby plants to you.
- Quests: Enter a glowing Honeycomb to see its task. Gather the listed plants, then return to that same Honeycomb to Turn In those requested plants.
- Spend Pollen: Open the Shop & Quests menu (top-right) to buy upgrades.
- Fullscreen: Use the button in the Shop tab for an immersive view.
Core Mechanics
- Plant Types: 12 themed plants (e.g., Redcap Mushroom, Sunflowers, Spirit Ivy) ((wow you're so smart to know that mushrooms aren't plants. Neither is crystal, so it's cool)). Each plant uses its own icon and color.
- Guidance: When you’ve met a quest’s requirements, soft breadcrumb particles point back to that quest’s Honeycomb
- Progress Rings: Honeycombs you’ve accepted a quest from display an extra radial ring showing your current progress through its quest.
- Big Squares: Rare “boss” plants slowly dissolve while you rest inside them. Finishing one grants a large bundle of its plant type, but requires the damage upgrade to be maxed out in order to obtain these in any reasonable amount of time.
Upgrades (buy with Pollen)
- Speed: Fly faster (also increases wing-flap rate for fun visuals).
- Magnet: Increases pull radius for nearby plants.
- Pollination: Dramatically increases obtaining speed for big plants.
- Golden Bee: Cosmetic unlock that turns your bee gold.
- Regrow Plants: Regrows all plants.
Hints
- Plants with a white dot + ring are currently needed for some active quest. When all needs for that plant are fully satisfied, those rings disappear.
- Honeycombs hum in the color of their primary requested plant. If it’s on screen, you’ll also see a soft reticle around it.
- The magnet upgrade will pick up stragglers as you fly past.
- Quests scale in difficulty and rewards over time.
- Big squares are slow without Damage. Consider max Damage upgrades before tackling many of them.
Controls
- Desktop: WASD to move • Click and hold/drag to set and continue to destination • ESC to close menus.
- Mobile: Tap/drag anywhere to fly there; lift to stop.
Quality of Life
- Autosave: Your position, inventory, quests, and upgrades persist between sessions.
- Performance: Lightweight effects; runs well on laptops and phones. Use Fullscreen for cleaner input and fewer distractions.
